Lance Letscher
New Work in Cut Paper

Lance Letscher is like an engineer of poetry. In composing his collages, each cut piece of paper fits together into an intricate web with rhythmic precision. But there are no mechanics here. This is work in which the hand of the artist is clearly evident, and in which the care for words and visual writing fall in with an intrinsic sense of color to create contructions of harmony and beauty.

Christopher Schade

Figurative Forms

Christopher Schade's paintings and drawings rely heavily on the figure - a figure which has been distorted and morphed into creatures with multifaceted characteristics. If these collected souls were to speak out, they would hiss, growl, moan or chortle. There is a certain bravura in the work which is manifest in the accomplished brush strokes and the physicality of the fantastical forms. Mr. Schade has his BFA from the University of Texas, Austin, and his MFA from Yale. He currently resides in New York City.

Alex Villar
Video

Alex Villar is an exceptional video artist who explores the urban world and the space man occupies within it. His subjects include the underground labyrinth of New York's subway system as well as narrow alleyways and fenced off zones.
Often focusing on a shadowy person squeezing through these tight, contrived spaces of urban planners. Villar's work tends to suggest the eternal struggle of man versus nature, but with a twist. No longer does the urban dweller confront nature's forces, but rather a man-made, often imperfectly designed habitat. It is fascinating to watch his subjects' confrontations with their new environments.
Alex Villar received his M.F.A. from Hunter College in New York. He has exhibited in galleries across the world including INIVA, London; Galeri Tommy Lund, Copenhagen; Stefan Stux Gallery, New York; and Galerie Joanna Kamm, Berlin. Mr. Villar currently resides in New York.
