C. Meng
New Paintings

C. Meng is a fusion of eastern and western artistic ideals. The soft calligraphic gestures placed atop broad, abstract brushstrokes display his mastery of both worlds. In this newest exhibition, Meng embraces the figure and the classical nude with his distinctive style.

Stephen Lapthisophon

Static

Chicago-based artist Stephen Lapthisophon is incredibly diverse. Not only does he work with the visual arts, but he is also a published author and playwright. Static is Lapthisophon's reach back through time to a recounting of the development of history, ideas, and culture. The exhibition's title "Static" signifies the difficulty encountered in such an endeavor. In doing so, he draws heavily from Paul Strand, but even inspiration from such an artist does not dissuade the distortions of time.

PROJECT ROOM

Justin Quinn
Hangings

Conduit Gallery presents North Texas artist Justin Quinn in his first solo exhibition at Conduit of serial monoprints in the Project Room.
These eerie prints create spectral images, which allude to the interchangeable term 'ghostprint' that is often used to define this printing style. These pieces show a continued growth in Quinn's oeuvre and a reductionism that enhances their intense quality.
Quinn has his MFA from the University of Iowa. He has exhibited at Boom, Illinois; the Contemporary Museum, Maryland; MACY Gallery, New York; Neiman Center for Print Studies, New York; and the University of Dallas, Texas.
