Vincent Falsetta
Recent Paintings

Continuing his investigation of abstract gesture, process, and expression, Mr. Falsetta's newest body of work features primitive cascades and vertical striations of color that are at once streaming, free, spontaneous, controlled, partitioned, and deliberate. Using brushes, cardboard, spreaders, palette knives, and dry wall spatulas to achieve rich texture, Falsetta achieves this deliberate spontaneity

Steven Shores

Recent Work

Mr. Shores' work combines layered, juxtaposed, displaced iconographic images with a careful orchestration of unexpected colors (glitter golds, rusts, mint greens, pale oranges, and reds) and textures. The topography of the work is achieved in part by attaching the skin of old tin tile squares while sanding down other sections. This layered field of images and suggestions yields a series of portals into a symbolic space that possesses both the mythic features of antiquity and a series of contemporary references. We find ourselves seduced by a series of invitations into dreams where we as viewers are left free to our personal associations and our own fantastic constructions.
