Untitled

Tim Sullivan

Sullivan’s photographs and videos are a playful combination of images of popular culture and metaphysical symbols of high culture. The artist explores the self-critical tendency within modern art. However, the appeal of Sullivan’s art lies in his ingenious ability to translate complex, multi-layered ideas and aesthetic discourses into humorous, seemingly light-hearted visual images.

Sullivan earned his MFA from San Francisco Art Institute in 2004 and a BA from Evergreen State College. He has since exhibited widely including:  Lisa Dent Galley, San Francisco; E-Transit/ Atelier Foskal, Warsaw, Poland and the 2006 California Biennial organized by the Orange County Art Museum, Newport Beach, CA.  Summer of 2008, Tim had solo show at the Collector's Contemporary in Singapore, and has a coming solo show at Ardbia Gallery, in Galway, Ireland.  His work in included in the collections of the Orange County Museum of Art and Deutsch Bank, NY, NY.
