"All art is made out of anger." -Lawrence Weiner, Nov. 29, 2012, Nasher Sculpture Center
House Plant is a direct attack on decoration and impressiveness. It is a thing admitting what it is, but at the same time mocking its position as such. The photo is a stand-in, partaking in the land of the decorative so to admonish it. It says, If art is to function simply as ornamentation, then it is no more than a household accessory, or worse yet, the house plant observes more attention and care than aforementioned.
