Mary Emma Hawthorne
Inspired from a recent trip to Africa and created from several pieces of collected papers and materials from that trip, Dallas artist Mary Emma Hawthorne has assembled a body of work that is both familiar and exotic. In simple collages and paintings on panel, Hawthorne communicates the poverty and richness of a culture and people that had a profound effect on her work.
Mary Emma Hawthorne received a B.F.A. from Texas Christian University in 2004 and has shown in several venues throughout Texas and Dallas since. This will be the second showing of Hawthorne’s work in the Conduit Gallery Project Room.
