James Sullivan
Variations
The Variations exhibition is a wide
exploration of materials by well-known Dallas artist James Sullivan.
Straw and plaster figural sculptures, a constant in Sullivan's oeuvre,
sit among rock forms cast in various metals. Large-scale drawings and
prints echo both the figure and stone three-dimensional works. Largely
inspired by desert landscapes, the works are a study of the archeological
and Paleolithic nature of his various subjects and materials. The end
results are elemental, timeless and essential.

Joe Mancuso
The
Flower Paintings
Joe
Mancuso's new large-scale canvases of living and dead floral bouquets
are delicate line studies of the residual impressions of his iconic
subjects. Mancuso uses a restrained palette employing whites, grays,
and blacks, with accents of muted reds. In these most recent paintings,
Mancuso's penchant for the use of mathematical patterning gives way
to a loose romanticism of mark making. With exacting restraint and considerable
understatement Joe Mancuso proves again and again that less is indeed
more.

PROJECT ROOM
Andy
Holtin & Jim Burton
In
Security
With In Security, Denton artists, Andy Holtin and Jim Burton
collaborate on a sculptural "living" installation that not only inhabits
the gallery's Project Room, but also infiltrates surprising areas of
the common spaces. The piece is a comment on surveillance, privacy and
the often forgotten line between the watcher and the watched.
