After reading the Stephen Ambrose book Undaunted Courage Kenneth Holder began forays along the trail of
Lewis and Clark, drawn by the landscape and the story.
For three years, he traveled along the trail, making sketches, documenting with a camera and making notes. Returning to the studio with his material, he began in earnest to record the current view of that historic trail. The large body of work that which results from his travels along the Trail of Lewis and Clark comprises an exciting visual experience.
A vast body of watercolors along with epic-scaled paintings have been produced which will travel to museums and galleries over the next several years as a part of the Bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
